What mediation is
A trained, neutral mediator helps both sides reach an agreement. Nothing is imposed on you, and what is said in mediation cannot be used later in court.
What it costs
A day of mediation typically costs a fraction of a contested hearing, and most matters settle in a single session. Family mediation may be eligible for a government voucher.
When we recommend it
Where the parties will need to keep dealing with each other afterwards
Where the facts are broadly agreed but the outcome is not
Where speed and privacy matter more than a public judgment
We will always tell you if we think court is the better route. Sometimes it is.
